Hey Weapon X Backers, I need your opinion on something!
Motor manufacturer has agreed to complete the new 750W M560 Weapon X motor in November
However, they report that with steel gear to handle extra power, the volume level of this motor is above their normal standards
They’re willing to break protocol to get us this motor as is – OR
Continue working on it and deliver if/once the motor volume is reduced
We’ve been using a prototype of this motor for some time and can tell you this:
The volume of this motor is indeed more than the standard M600 motor
We never thought much of it, with all our motors as power goes up, the sound level generally follows
There’s definitely a very noticable difference in power and ride feeling – it RIPS!
If we were building the bike only for us we’d give them the green light
We’d say proceed as is- build the motors now so we can get riding ASAP!
BUT because this bike is for you,
I want to hear your thoughts before we make the call
Please share your opinion with me in the comments here or on indiegogo
What do you prefer?
1. Tell Bafang to keep working on it, even if it delays the bike by 3-6 months (or more)
2. BUILD MY BIKE ALREADY! Give me the volume, the power and ship my bike ASAP!
3. Downgrade Weapon X to 500W motor which is quieter and less powerful
In other news:
Small, Medium and Large Weapon frames have all passed fatigue testing!
Small/Medium are in painting now
Chainstay guard is completed
Next step is trial mass frame production (expecting 15 days)
In meantime, production samples will be made with all 3 frames

(DONE!) Pass medium frame – September
(Ongoing) Production sample assembly – September
(Next Step) Trial mass frame production – October
Mass frame production – October/November
Bafang – M560 motor ready November
Assembly – November/December
