Alison Tetrick (she/her/hers) almost lost her life after a severe crash in a professional race. The bike almost took her life, but it also saved her time and time again; it gave her a platform to come back to the sport, love it again, and make a difference.
Born and raised on a ranch in California, Alison is a NCAA tennis player turned biochemist turned Team USA Professional Cyclist, storyteller, and free-range entrepreneur. She is a traumatic brain injury survivor after a crash in a professional bike race, and although the bike almost took her life, it also saved her life. She is passionate about creating opportunity, education, and access to athletes through scholarships and community engagement.
In this episode, Alison shares her experience growing up on a cattle ranch, she talks about how she learned to love racing bikes from her Grandpa, and explains her traumatic brain injuries and what it has been like recovering from them.
