The Specialized Turbo Tero X 5.0 is an e-bike that straddles two worlds, delivering solid performance in both. It is at once a capable eMTB with a 250W mid-drive motor delivering 70Nm of torque and conquering terrain with a SRAM 12-speed drivetrain and 4-piston hydraulic brakes. The Turbo Tero X 5.0 is also a zippy Class 3 commuter that comes standard with the commuter’s necessities: fenders, lights, rear rack and kickstand. Specialized describes the Turbo Tero X 5.0 as the SUV of the e-bike world, and we won’t disagree. We rarely encounter an e-bike that can perform so well in two different realms. Most products meant to straddle two worlds usually end up doing neither particularly well. Not so with this e-bike.
