Footage from my September 2022 weekend trip undertaking with my old friend and fellow regular touring buddy, Chris, the Snowdonia 360 route — an approximately 360 mile from mid to North Wales, including a circuit of Anglesey.
Doing the route on electric my EVA Ribelle was not without its challenges, simply because of the paucity of reliable infrastructure in Wales. I essentially had a choice of charging point on day one (after the morning’s initial charge) which would fall in the right kind of distance, and this was at a campsite in Caernarfon. Day 2 was easier, as I started the day fully charged, thanks to the hotel allowing me to charge the bike overnight.
The Snowdonia 360 is Wales’ equivalent of the Scottish North Coast 500 and absolutely worth undertaking. It would be easy to extend it further south, down the coast past Aberystwyth and down into Cardiganshire and Pembrokeshire, then along the south coast.
We had planned the trip a few weeks in advance, but weren’t to know when we booked accommodation in advance that it would fall on the eve of the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II. This explains the flags at half mast in parts of the video.
Excluded from the video is my outbound journey from my home in Warwickshire on Friday evening and I only include the single stop in Shrewsbury on my return home from Machynlleth on the Sunday.
