Our last day in Dublin was awesome, Thomas from Moby showed us new gyroscope based wheel that can be used in kids balance bikes, regular bikes, kickscooters. There are three basic ways the Jyro wheels will be used:
1. Teach kids to ride the bikes, kick scooters ( first phase )
2. Help disabled people to drive bikes or ebikes with gyroscope left-right auto-correcting. ( second phase )
3. Experiment with left and right-leaning and autonomous functions ( third phase )
The wheel is powered by a lithium battery which can be recharged via USB ( battery providing up to 5 hours of use ). Thomas told us that children can learn to ride a bike within one afternoon. Similar tech was used in Lit motorcycle.
There was a company before MOBY that was doing something like this but never got the product out. The extent of this tech goes beyond balancing bikes and we are happy that this Dublin based company is exploring all the possibilities
