I built a little portable demo of a brushless 40V Ryobi lawn mower motor running on 2 x 18V batteries and an e-bike motor controller.

An old Ryobi 40V lawn mower was donated to me, which I took apart. I replaced the original single-speed motor controller with a variable-speed e-bike controller and throttle.
I packaged all the parts together onto some scrap wood to clean up what I had done so far and make the whole thing portable.
The handle is repurposed from the lawn mower, as I needed a place to mount the throttle anyways. It also serves as a carrying handle. The whole thing could serve as a nice little portable demonstration to show how battery-based electric vehicles work. This is also a test platform for a possible upcoming project.
