Steps to Replace the Controller:
1. Preparation:
Power Off: Turn off the bike and disconnect the battery to avoid electrical hazards.
Find a Safe Workspace: Use a clean, flat surface where you can lay out tools and parts.
2. Locate the Controller:
The controller is typically housed in a compartment near the bike’s bottom bracket or frame tube.
Remove any protective covers or panels using the appropriate tools.
3. Disconnect Wires:
Label the Wires: Take photos or label wires to remember their connections.
Unplug Connectors: Carefully disconnect all wiring harnesses connected to the old controller. Pay attention to motor, battery, throttle, display, and sensor connections.
4. Remove the Controller:
Unscrew the mounting brackets or screws holding the controller in place.
Gently remove the old controller from the housing.
5. Install the New Controller:
Position the new controller in the same place as the old one.
Secure it with the screws or mounting brackets.
6. Reconnect Wires:
Plug in the wires according to the labels or photos you took earlier.
Ensure each connection is secure and matches the corresponding port on the controller.
7. Test the System:
Reconnect the battery and power on the bike.
Test all functions, including throttle, pedal-assist, lights, and display, to confirm proper operation.
8. Finalize Installation:
Once testing is complete, reinstall any covers or panels.
Ensure no wires are pinched or exposed.
