Cover version of the original track by Kraftwerk, written by Ralf HΓΌtter & Florian Schneider, and released on the 1974 album Kraftwerk album Autobahn.
In 2023, I recorded two cover versions of tracks from the seminal Kraftwerk album, Autobahn. The first was Kometenmelodie 2. Over Christmas 2023, I decided to challenge myself by recording the whole of the title track, which spans the whole of the first side on the original album.
Having recorded both these, it only seemed right to finish the job and do versions of the remaining three tracks.
"Morgenspaziergang" or "Morning Walk" on the original Kraftwerk version conveys the essence of a countryside walk with bird song and babbling stream conveyed using synthesiser sounds, accompanied by real recorder, flute, and piano and mandolin (I think, though it could be a dulcimer, zither, or similar).
My version inverts this, using real recordings of the countryside, but the acoustic instruments of the original are virtual instruments, recorded using a keyboard.
Unashamedly sweet, this tune. I love its contrast with the preceding tracks.
Recorded in Cubase, triggering multiple VST instrument plug-ins.
