On 30 April 2021, a new service station opened off junction 1 of the M6 in Rugby, Warwickshire, England.
The service station is the first of its kind at the time of opening and is the UK’s largest high-power motorway charging site, including 12 Tesla Superchargers and 12 350 kW Tritium charge points, 6 of which are solely CCS points, and the other 6 combined CCS and CHAdeMO.
As a local in Warwickshire, I took the opportunity after work to drive my MG ZE EV to visit this latest roll-out of charging hardware, so soon after InstVolt opened their total of 15 charge points (north- and southbound) at Corley services, in North Warwickshire, and to try the charge points for myself.
I then returned the following day on my Zero DSR electric motorcycle to take a look at the services building itself.
