We took the opportunity to welcome @World Bicycle Relief’s CEO, Dave Neiswander, in our video studio in Biel (Switzerland). In this interview, Dave Neiswander explains how World Bicycle Relief accomplishes its mission and what obstacles the non-profit organization must still overcome.
Additionally, we took a closer look into the partnership between DT Swiss and World Bicycle Relief. Frank Böckmann (one of the owners and Commercial Director of DT Swiss) answered questions about DT Swiss past and future commitment to World Bicycle Relief.
Founded in 2005, @World Bicycle Relief mobilizes people through “The Power of Bicycles”. World Bicycle Relief accomplishes its mission by distributing specially designed, high-quality bicycles through philanthropic and social enterprise programs. These purpose-designed bicycles are built to withstand the challenging terrain and conditions in rural, developing areas.
To date, World Bicycle Relief has delivered more than 600,000 bicycles and trained more than 2,500 field mechanics in Africa, Southeast Asia and South America. World Bicycle Relief is a registered non-profit in the USA, Canada, U.K., Germany, Switzerland and Australia, and has assembly facilities in Colombia, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
