Wisper to launch two new e-road bikes at Eurobike

It seems not a day goes by at the moment without someone unveiling something new in the e-road market. Yesterday it was Bafang’s new M800 motor, and today it’s Wisper, who have announced that they’ll have two new e-road bikes at the Eurobike show in July.
The two bikes are both called Wolverine, with the Wolverine Carbon featuring a full carbon frame and the standard Wolverine getting aluminium alloy instead. They both use the same motor system, the Fazua Evation drive that featured on the Cube Agree Hybrid C:62 that we tested recently. It’s a very neat system that’s pretty light, and uniquely you can drop the motor and battery out of the bike and run it as a standard bike, with the gearbox bottom bracket only adding 1kg to the overall weight.
The alloy Wolverine (pictured top) is probably the cheapest e-road bike we’ve seen with the Fazua system. It’s going to retail at £3,000; the image at the top is a mockup with a bit of a mix of parts, but Wisper tell us that the production bike will have Shimano’s new 105 hydraulic disc groupset. That’ll be excellent spec for the money.
The Wolverine Carbon, interstingly, will be available as a frameset; we’re assuming that’s frame, fork, motor system and seatpost. That will cost you £3,300 and then you can build it up however you want. The stock build will be with Shimano Ultegra Di2 Disc, and that full bike will be £5,800.
That’s all the details we have for now; we’ll look out for the bikes at Eurobike, and if they’re in a rideable state at the show then we’ll make sure we get a go on one.
