Just a quick sample of using an 18V Ryobi battery for powering a simple lighting system in a shed.

The bulbs I use can run on 10-30V and work great on Ryobi 18V batteries.

I created a 3D print to hold the battery.
Inside, two Keystone 209 spring contacts connect the battery to the wiring.

The + side goes through a switch and then through two-conductor wiring to the 18V battery in a standard light bulb socket. Additional bulbs can easily be hooked up in series for increased lighting.
